We've built custom software out of Austin since 2000. Part of our team works out of Southwest Colorado now, so we work with businesses in Durango, Cortez, Pagosa Springs, Telluride, Montrose, Bayfield and the rest of the Four Corners.
Lone Star Media started in Austin in 2000 building websites for local businesses. Austin is still where our roots are.
These days we also build and run our own products, and we ship software for clients all over. The engineers you talk to are the ones who build it.
We work from home, spread across Austin, Southwest Colorado, Poland and Ukraine. We have people here.
Once we've talked and we know the project is a good fit, we're happy to meet in person anywhere in the region.
Same work we do for everybody else. A few examples:
Booking, scheduling, customer portals, the internal dashboard your team keeps asking for. If the business runs on spreadsheets and a group text, we can build the thing that replaces them.
iPhone and Android apps for your customers or your crew out in the field. We plan for spotty signal, because out here you will have some.
Connect your own data to Claude and tools like it so AI can look things up and do real work for you. Practical stuff.
How MCP works →Somebody built you an app (or AI did) and now it's broken and nobody can touch it. Send it over. We've seen worse ;)
AI Slop Surgery →Some ideas to get you thinking. Your list is probably different, and that's fine.
If you run an outfitter, a guide service or a rental shop, maybe it's bookings, waivers and gear finally living in one place.
If you're in tourism or lodging, it might be a better booking flow. Or a way to stop answering the same questions by email all summer.
If you run a ranch or an ag operation, it could be a simple app to track the things you track on paper today, built around how you actually work.
If you run a clinic or a practice, think patient intake and scheduling. We'll talk through privacy requirements up front.
If you manage rentals or an HOA, owner portals and maintenance requests are a good place to start.
Book a free 30-minute consultation. Phone or video, whatever is easier.
Tell us what's broken or what you want built. You'll get an honest read, including if we're not the right fit.
If it makes sense, we start small. Usually a first piece of working software in about two weeks, so you can see how we work.
From there we ship every week and you tell us what you think.
We're a remote team. Our roots are in Austin, where Lone Star Media started in 2000, and part of the team works out of Southwest Colorado. We're happy to meet.
No. We work with clients all over the US. We just like working with people close to home too.
Yes. Start with the contact form or a free consultation. Once we know the project is a real fit, we're happy to meet anywhere in the region.
Projects start at $5k. If yours is smaller than that, we're probably not the right fit, and we'll tell you so.
Yes. That's a lot of what we do. If AI wrote it and nobody can maintain it, start with a free consultation and we'll tell you how bad it is.
It depends on what you need. Projects start at $5k. Most people begin with a small first piece of work, so the number isn't a leap of faith. The free consultation is where we figure that out together.
