Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 8, 2026
Who we are
Lone Star Media ("Lone Star Media," "we," "us") is a software development company based in Austin, Texas. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through lonestarmedia.com (the "site"), how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies only to this site, not to software we build for clients, which is covered by our agreements with those clients.
Information you give us
When you fill in the contact form, we collect the information you provide: your name, email address, the type of project, your timeline, and the project details you write, plus your company or website and a budget range if you choose to share them. If you email or call us, we receive whatever you include in that message, such as your contact details and anything you tell us about your project.
Please don't send passwords, payment details, or confidential business information through the form. If a project needs that, we'll arrange a secure way to share it.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our servers and our network provider keep standard technical logs, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the date and time, to keep the site secure and working. We also use the analytics tools described below.
Analytics and cookies
Every page on this site loads two analytics tools:
- Google Tag Manager (container GTM-NNVF7FDW), which we use to load Google Analytics. Google Analytics uses cookies to measure how visitors use the site — for example, which pages are viewed, how you arrived (such as a search engine or another site), roughly how long you stay, and general information about your device, browser, and approximate location. We also record a few site interactions, such as clicks on our calls to action or on links to other sites, and whether the contact form was submitted (not what you typed).
- Cloudflare Web Analytics, provided by Cloudflare, which delivers this site. It measures page views and site performance, including the pages visited, the referring site, and general browser, device, and country information.
We use this information in aggregate to understand which pages are useful and to improve the site. We do not use it to identify you personally or for advertising. You can limit analytics with your browser's privacy settings or content blockers, or with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. For how these providers handle data, see Google's Privacy Policy and Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
How we use your information
- To reply to your inquiry and prepare for a consultation.
- To discuss, quote, and carry out work you ask us about.
- To keep the site secure, prevent spam and abuse, and fix problems.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
- To meet legal obligations and protect our rights.
We don't add you to a mailing list or send you marketing email unless you ask us to.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share information only:
- With service providers that help us run the site and our business, such as our hosting and network providers, the email service that delivers contact-form messages to our inbox, and the analytics providers named above. They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
- When required by law, or when needed to protect the rights, safety, or property of Lone Star Media, our clients, or others.
- As part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our business, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information.
- With your permission.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiries and related correspondence for as long as we need them to respond to you, to work with you if you become a client, and to keep reasonable business records. If you ask us to delete your information, we will, unless we need to keep it to meet a legal obligation. Analytics data is kept according to each provider's retention settings, and server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.
How we protect it
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections to this site and limiting access to the people who need it. No website or email system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it by emailing [email protected]. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request, and we respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law; we will honor them as the law requires and will not treat you differently for using them.
Children's privacy
This site is meant for businesses and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Visitors outside the United States
We are based in the United States, and the information you send us is processed and stored in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those where you live.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll post the new version here and change the effective date above. If a change is significant, we'll make that clear on this page.
